Bushbury Hill EMB recognises that anti-social behaviour (ASB) can have a major impact on the lives of our tenants and other people living in and visiting our community. We are committed to dealing appropriately and effectively with ASB. Bushbury Hill EMB works in partnership with the police and other agencies to tackle ASB because we believe joint working is more effective.
The definition of anti-social behaviour we apply is behaviour “which caused or was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household..." This is the legal definition used in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
Typically ASB involves unacceptable behaviour within the community by young people or groups of young people, although ASB can be committed by people of any age. Certain types of crime can also have an anti-social element and whilst the police are the lead agency to tackle crime, we do work with them.
Our focus is on achieving positive outcomes for victims of ASB and on diverting people causing the problems into more positive behaviours. Our policy on dealing with ASB is available here.

Bushbury Hill is a place where people like to live and overwhelmingly they get on well with their neighbours. However, from time to time people do fall out with their neighbours. This can be over issues such as
- noise nuisance
- untidy gardens
- dogs and other pets
- hedges and fences
By far the best way to resolve this type of problem is for neighbours to talk to each other calmly and reasonably. However, if this fails it is part of Bushbury Hill EMBs role as housing managers, to speak to tenants where their behaviour is in breach of their tenancy.
In most cases issues can be resolved informally but tenants are able to use the Wolverhampton Mediation Service if they feel they would like some professional help to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
