Eileen Owen - Board Member
My name is Eileen Owen and I have lived in Low Hill for 27 years having moved here with my husband and two children from Northern Ireland to be closer to my sister and her family.
I started volunteering 12 years ago after I had to give up my job as a Home Help due to ill health. I have been involved in the Savings Club, now called Credit Union, for many years and I helped with getting The Strawberry Patch, an environmental project, up and running. I volunteer with many other organisations, aiming to help the community that welcomed me so many years ago.
I joined the Tenants & Residents group to help improve our Estate and then went on to become a Board Member of Bushbury Hill when the organisation went live ten years ago. I left some five years later returning as a Board Member in the Summer 2007. I look forward to the future of Bushbury Hill and how we can continue to improve the Estate for generations to come.
