The apprentice – ‘You’re hired’
In a unique partnership with Staffordshire Property Care/Central Borders Housing Group, we have been able to arrange for them to offer 2 apprenticeships to residents of Bushbury Hill Estate.
Whenever possible the Board are keen to promote work, skills and training opportunities for the people of Bushbury Hill and this chance was too good to miss.
So that potential applicants didn’t miss out, the EMB made sure that adverts for the apprenticeship positions were sent to every home we manage. What was really special about this scheme is that applicants for the Bushbury Hill apprenticeships had to live in Bushbury Hill, this way we could be sure that local people will get the benefit.
The apprenticeships were open to applicants of all ages, men and women so whether you were looking to change career, retrain or take your first steps on the career ladder then this was a great option.
The apprentices will train over a four year period towards a Multi-Trade qualification in plumbing and carpentry. They’ll learn on the job, working alongside qualified trade operatives from Staffordshire Property Care. They will also attend City of Wolverhampton College on day release.
As part of the deal, most of the time the apprentices will be working on the homes in Bushbury Hill so they will be part of the team aiming to provide you with an excellent repairs service.
We would like to thank Central Borders Housing Group for making this scheme possible. The Board also wish the successful applicants all the best as they start out on their apprenticeship.
