Claims canvassers are going door to door in some areas of the estate. These claims canvassers encourage people to make compensation claims and if successful, retain most of the compensation sum that has been awarded. They may let you believe they are working on behalf of the council, but they are not.

If they come to your door, make sure you:

• always ask for identification
• call the police if you feel scared or threatened
• talk to us before you sign any documents or have any unresolved repairs issues
