Big Venture Ltd

Located on Chesterton Road, WV10 8SP, Big Venture is a community-owned and community-run social enterprise. The centre features a newly refurbished community hall, a volunteer-led café, a community garden, and a radio station. Big Venture also hosts a variety of services, including Wolverhampton City Credit Union. It offers a comprehensive programme of activities for young people, parents, and carers across the WV10 area.

Bushbury Hill Community Action Group

Bushbury Hill Community Action Group (BHCAG) is a local charity dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. Our aims are to:

  • Educate and support local people to encourage and enable them to tackle health issues by working with local services to provide community based support.
  • Support the family unit to create an environment that will enable children and young people in our area to access opportunities. Raising aspirations and addressing low self-esteem will contribute towards a successful and prosperous future.
  • Create a clean, green and safe environment across our area, encouraging pride and respect amongst community members.
  • Support local people to prosper economically, socially, physically and mentally, enabling people to access information, advice, guidance, training, vocational support, jobs and business opportunities, all contributing towards greater financial inclusion.
CAAT’s Services

Community Actions & Training Services - Established by Louisa Edwards and Kim Payne, offering over 35 years combined cross sector experience.  CAATS work with local people to tackle local issues, providing outreach and engagement services, community capacity building, education, training and support for individuals and groups/organisations. City of Wolverhampton Council

We work closely with Wolverhampton City Council, the landlord of the homes we manage.

Through our exciting partnership arrangement with the Council, called The Better Homes Partnership, £14 million in capital funding will be invested in the estate over 15 years. This funding will go towards improvements such as fencing, roofs, kitchens, and bathrooms, enhancing the quality of homes for our community.

In addition, we are proud to be the Council’s preferred managing agent for new homes being built in the area.

West Midlands Fire Service

All new tenants are offered a Safe & Well visit, from West Midlands Firefighter’s who visit your home and give you practical and individual fire safety advice. However, if you are a tenant and you feel that it would be useful for you to receive this service, please call 08003895525 or visit their website above.

West Midlands Police

To report any crime that is happening now, dial 999 and ask for West Midlands Police. To report non urgent incidents, dial 101 or use their online reporting tool www.west-midlands.police.uk/incident-report We have a local policing team working out of the Low Hill Police Base. Wolverhampton City Credit Union

Wolverhampton City Credit Union are a not-for-profit community bank, owned and controlled by its members who are people who live, work, volunteer or study in a WV postcode area. The aim of WCCU is "to give our members a brighter financial future by providing ethical, honest and fair community banking”. WCCU have local information and collection points where you can have a chat to find out what WCCU can do to help you – to find out more visit Low Hill Community Centre (every Wednesday 10.00am-4.00pm) and Big Venture Centre (every Thursday 10.00am – 2.00pm).

Wolverhampton Homes

We work closely with Wolverhampton Homes, the Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) for City of Wolverhampton Council. Wolverhampton Homes provides the out-of-hours emergency repairs service and manages the annual gas servicing for our homes.Additionally, we are collaborating with Wolverhampton Homes and the City of Wolverhampton Council to explore the Community Housing Fund, with the aim of creating new community-led housing in the area.

The Wrekin Housing Group

The Wrekin Housing Group is our responsive repairs contractor. They are also responsible for preparing our empty properties for re-letting to the next tenant.If you would like to report a repair please click here.

WV10 Consortium

This is a formal collaboration of both local and Citywide organisations to enable the sharing of resources, alignment of delivery and to maximise the inward investment into the WV10 area. The WV10 Consortium is currently the lead on the WV10 HeadStart Programme that is operating across the area.
